Protection of Personal Data

General Information About the Personal Data Protection Law

The Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (hereinafter referred to as KVKK) was accepted on March 24, 2016, and published in the Official Gazette No. 29677 on April 7, 2016. Some parts of the KVKK came into effect on the publication date, while others came into effect on October 7, 2016.

Information as the Data Controller

In accordance with the KVKK No. 6698 and in our capacity as the Data Controller, your personal data will be recorded, stored, updated, disclosed / transferred to third parties in cases permitted by law, classified, and processed in the ways specified in the KVKK as explained on this page.

How Your Personal Data Can Be Processed

In accordance with KVKK No. 6698, the personal data you share with our company can be processed by us in any way, either automatically or manually, as part of any data recording system, by recording, storing, modifying, re-organizing, or any other processing action on the data. Any operation performed on personal data under the KVKK is considered as “personal data processing.”

Purposes and Legal Grounds for Processing Your Personal Data

The personal data you share will be processed for the following purposes:

  • To fulfill the requirements of the services we provide to our customers, to carry out these services in accordance with the terms of the contract and the requirements of technology, and to improve the products and services we offer;
  • To register identity, address, and other necessary information for identifying the data subject, in accordance with the Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce, the Law No. 6502 on the Protection of Consumers, and the regulations published in the Official Gazette dated 26.08.2015, No. 29457, regarding Electronic Commerce Service Providers and Intermediary Service Providers, the Regulation on Distance Contracts published on 27.11.2014 in the Official Gazette No. 29188, and other relevant legislation;
  • To arrange all records and documents necessary for payment systems, electronic contracts, or paper-based transactions in the field of banking and electronic payments, and to comply with information storage, reporting, and notification obligations imposed by relevant authorities;
  • To provide information to prosecutors, courts, and relevant public officials in cases of public security matters and legal disputes, when required by law;
  • To process in accordance with the KVKK No. 6698 and related secondary regulations.

Information About Third Parties or Organizations to Whom Your Personal Data May Be Transferred

For the purposes stated above, the personal data you share with our company may be transferred to the following persons/organizations: primarily the software company that provides the infrastructure for our website and e-commerce, suppliers, cargo companies, and other individuals or organizations related to the services provided, program partner organizations we collaborate with, domestic and international organizations, and other third parties.

How Your Personal Data is Collected

Your personal data is collected through the following channels:

  • Through the forms on our website and mobile applications, information such as name, surname, Turkish ID number, address, phone number, work or personal email address, as well as (if available) preferences on the pages accessed using a username and password, IP logs of actions performed, cookie data collected by the browser, navigation times and details, and location data;
  • Through verbal, written, or electronic communication channels such as our sales and marketing department employees, our branches, suppliers, other sales channels, paper forms, business cards, digital marketing, web support (webchat), and call center;
  • From individuals who share their personal data for purposes such as establishing a business relationship with our company, applying for a job, or submitting an offer, through physical or virtual environments, face-to-face or remote, verbal, written, or electronic communication such as business cards, resumes (CVs), and offers;
  • Additionally, data obtained indirectly from various channels, such as websites, blogs, competitions, surveys, games, campaigns, and other (micro) websites and social media, including e-newsletter reading or clicking actions, data from publicly accessible databases, and profiles and data shared on social media platforms;

Personal Data Collected Before the Enactment of the KVKK

Personal data obtained before the enactment date of the KVKK, which is April 7, 2016, such as membership, electronic communication consent, product/service purchases, and other lawful methods, are also processed and stored in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in this document.

Transfer of Your Personal Data Abroad

Personal data collected by any of the methods mentioned above, whether processed in Turkey or stored abroad, may be transferred to service providers located abroad (to countries accredited by the Personal Data Protection Authority and where adequate protection for personal data is provided), provided that it remains within the scope of KVKK and is consistent with the contractual purposes.

Storage and Protection of Personal Data

Your personal data will be stored confidentially in the databases and systems of our company, in accordance with Article 12 of the KVKK; it will not be shared with third parties in any way, except as required by legal obligations and the regulations specified in this document. Our company is obligated to prevent the unlawful processing of personal data, block unauthorized access, and take necessary software and physical security measures, including access management, in accordance with Article 12 of the KVKK. If it is learned that personal data has been obtained unlawfully by others, this will be immediately reported to the Personal Data Protection Authority in writing and in accordance with legal regulations.

Keeping Personal Data Accurate and Up-to-Date

In accordance with Article 4 of the KVKK, our company is obligated to keep your personal data accurate and up-to-date. In this regard, to fulfill our company’s obligations arising from the current legislation, it is necessary for our customers to share accurate and up-to-date data or update it through the website/mobile application.

Rights of the Personal Data Owner Under the KVKK No. 6698

Article 11 of the KVKK, which entered into force on October 7, 2016, grants the following rights to the Personal Data Owner:

The Personal Data Owner, by applying to our company (data controller), has the right to:

  • Learn whether personal data is being processed,
  • If personal data is being processed, request information about it,
  • Learn the purpose of processing personal data and whether they are being used for the intended purpose,
  • Know the third parties to whom personal data has been transferred, whether within or outside the country,
  • Request correction of personal data if it is processed incompletely or incorrectly,
  • Request the deletion or destruction of personal data under the conditions stipulated in Article 7 of the KVKK,
  • Request the notification of third parties to whom the personal data has been transferred about the correction, deletion, or destruction of the data,
  • Object to the result arising against the person, based exclusively on automatic processing of personal data,
  • Request compensation for the damage caused by the unlawful processing of personal data,

In accordance with Article 13, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Data Protection Law, you can submit your request to exercise the above-mentioned rights, in writing or by other methods determined by the Personal Data Protection Authority. Since the Personal Data Protection Authority has not yet determined any method, you are required to submit your request in writing to our company as per the KVKK. The channels and procedures for submitting your written application under Article 11 of the KVKK are explained below.

To exercise the above-mentioned rights, please complete the form available below, including necessary information to identify yourself and any other required details, and submit the signed form along with identity verification documents either in person at the following address: “DUDULLU OSB, 2.
